KDCFS hosted settlers from FELDA Lurah Bilut, Pahang on 8 July 2019. They were interested in rehabilitating their surrounding areas to encourage a more sustainability culture within their community and to promote ecotourism in their plantation and local designated forest. We explained to the group how we engaged the community to help develop and maintain the forest. A brief history of the forest and the activities and initiatives were highlighted. The group was then taken on a walk along the Temuan and Scouts trails to experience the forest. Our representative from Perhutanan was also present to explain the role of Perhutanan in preserving the community forest.
These past few weeks, KDCF Society has been fortunate to have additional assistance from young people who have signed on to serve the community and environmental causes while they work towards their Roots & Shoots Malaysia Award.
