KDCF Society was established to represent the voices of the community and groups interested in nature conservation and the preservation of forest recreational spaces. We work closely with the Selangor Forestry Department in seeking to develop our unique model of collaborative management of urban forest. We are only as strong as our member base. We believe that there may come a time when we need to stand together against potential threats in the form of pressure to degazette the Reserve for ‘development’. By joining as a KDCF member you are adding to the numbers of others, who like you, care about this forest and will not hesitate to advocate for its protection and wise use.
KDCF Society is a registered society. All its Committee members serve in a voluntary capacity. Membership fees go mainly into maintaining the sustainable forest trails and running activities for our community. In contributing to the Society you are also helping us demonstrate the value that civil society groups can bring to the protection of our remaining forest refuges. We are making an important statement that Malaysians value our forest, and we are willing to commit time, energy, and resources towards its care and protection.
As a KDCF member you have the privilege of knowing that you are playing a direct role in stewarding the forest. There are opportunities to meet other like-minded folk and also to do your part through volunteer activities and community days.
Registration fees
Annual membership fees are RM10 per annum. We encourage you to sign up for three or more years to avoid the inconvenience of having to renew your membership annually. At the 2018 AGM, the members agreed to create the opportunity to become a Lifetime Member with a one-time payment of only RM100. A welcome gift of a limited edition KDCF T-shirt will be given to new lifetime members. Please register online and make payment to our Persatuan account.
